The Dilemma Between Britax and Graco Snugride 35

We personally were choosing between Graco Snugride 35 and Britax when we were shopping, but ended up with Graco. Not like there is anything wrong with Britax, except that it’s a little bit pricey like all Britaxes (right?), but what we saw can make a good review for the Graco car seat. Also, we thought that we would like to compare the fifth that the fifth model with the previous one is, the ones that had the weight limit of 22 lbs only.

The Pros

• -Ease of installation and use. If you compare it to the older models that had 22 lbs restriction barrier, the 35th version is definitely much better. For those who don’t know, the previous model had the straps that could have been adjusted only from the back – some people were literally outraged by this!
  -As we have said, it is compatible with most other Graco strollers, as well as other Graco products like SnugGlider.
• -Incredibly soft and sturdy the padding and design.
• -One of the most eye-catching feature is the 35 lbs weight limit. Moreover, the car seat is pretty high, too. Most other car seats will have 30 lbs weight limit only, or even 22. With 35 lbs, your baby can use the car seat for many months more, resulting in saving of your money.
• -Also, if you compare the height of Graco and other car seats, Graco SnugRide 35 is taller than most other seats – another point for how long this car seat can be used
• -The side protection system. Safety of our dear baby is definitely the top priority, and anything that contributed to additional assurance and decreased risks, on top of the safety standards imposed by the officials, was a very good thing.
• -It fits extremely firmly into the base – secure and safe. Graco 35 has this “foot” at the base that is adjusted with the knob – you can move the foot downwards, and by twisting the knob you tighten the base and the car seat extremely snugly, so to speak, into the car – it literally doesn’t move more than an inch, or even a millimetre!
• -Well, this is additional and may be a bit superfluous, but colors!! They are nice .
• -Lastly, Price. This is one of the main reasons why a lot of parents prefer Snugride 35 – the quality is definitely on par with other great infant car seats, like Britax, for the lower price the car seat demands. (Although Britax car seats are notorious for their high prices – not saying that their car seats are bad in any manner, though!)

The Cons

• -It is definitely one of the heavier of the car seats. Since it accommodates infants up to 35 lbs, the car seat had to be made heavier than the previous model with 22 lbs weight capacity. If you’re planning to use Graco SnugRide 35 to run around the park with your baby, then please reconsider . Okay, joking aside, it’s not a really serious con for us. You can definitely carry your baby from the car to a supermarket and back in Graco SnugRide 35, without too much effort. It is just a few pounds heavier than its previous model and other car seats, anyway.
• -It is a bit wide.

There were definitely several ways to do it, but we decided to use the vehicle belt – just following what the instructions say. • As usual, the car seat is fixated probably when it cannot move more than 1 inch whenever you try to apply force to it. It is really both a great relief and joy to know that you are in possession of such a wonderful car seat that will ensure safety for your little baby.

• -It is really one of the safest, if not safest combination car seats ever. I have two kids, and the hardest version fits perfectly my younger one, and the booster version has been told to be amazing, as well. Of course, it is essential if you want the car seat the safe for it to fit your baby as the first priority – you can’t get this done yourself, probably you should call the professional technician who can do it for you.
• -There are seven colour combinations for the Britax Frontier 85 series, and you can choose from such distinctive parents as Livia (perfect for little girlies),Red Rock (our favorite, and our child loves it, too), Onyx, Maui Blue and others. There is really a great pool to choose from.

This car seat comes with not very easy to understand manual (well, at least not instanteneously understandable manual). If you want to have the best experience with this car seat, you need to get a hold of both the manual and carefully read it through, as well as getting help from youtube videos (thankfully, there are a lot of them out there).

This seat is NOT RECOMMENDED for Infants

No matter what the product description says, this car seat is very hard to install properly rear-facing. And people have commented that their infants couldn’t fit in. Cut the company some slack – they were trying to get into this market, after all : ).

Moreover, it is hard to imagine how a small infant could fit into this car seat – the straps would be of inappropriate size.

Of course, it is also imperative to compare the 70 version with the 65 Advocate version. Again, the 70 version beats the 65th version in all aspects – safety, fabric, comfort, etc.. Well, some will complain about the replacement of the 65th head rest adjustment system with the pull handle above the head – what it results in is that you can’t adjust the height of the head rest when the kids is sitting in the car seat – the system just doesn’t work in this case. In our opinion, it is really just small detail – unless you’re striving for as much excellence as Will Smith, instead of not chasing the impossible and being realistic.

Again, you’ll be extremely satisfied with this car seat, and we haven’t found anything else on the market right now that will compare it to Britax Advocate 70 CS.

If you really care about your child, you should definitely obtain it from Amazon.

Basically, no official institution actually tells you what the seat has gone through to be worth X points towards safety, so all you know for sure is that all car seats you see on the market have passed a certain “safety test”.

That, on the one hand, should put you at rest, but on the other hand, it isn’t an excuse to buy a random car seat.

Basically, the safest infant car seat will be the one that fits your baby perfectly and is used properly, 100% of the time. In that sense, you are better off buying an infant car seat that is easy to install and has all the funky features, so to speak.

Some seats do incorporate additional features that are beyond what is needed to pass the official safety test. We recommend that you pick Safety First Onboard 35 – it is great and they have a special model that is call Safety First Air Onboard 35 – with air cushioning that will reduce the impact of collision.
