We tried to look around for Boulevard 70 cs Versus Recaro Proride…
And those who chose Recaro ProRIDE were immensely satisfied and thought they did the right choice. (Hey, that doesn’t mean that there is anything wrong with Boulevard – there are both pros and cons to both of these models, after all, and you may like certain things about Recaro more than you would about Boulevard, but we digress…)
The most common complaints about Boulevard was that it was incredibly hard to install and that it is incredibly big, hard and bulky. (Some complaints were also about the hardship of getting the baby in and out of Boulevard 70.)
Here is What Recaro ProRIDE offers to you, instead:
- Very safe head rest and soul-assuring head/neck/shoulder protection. We will emphasize on this point (safety of Recaro ProRIDE) a lot in our review, because it is very important.
- Side Impact Protection. Significantly reduces the risks of injury to your baby that can be caused by a side collision. (Most other car seats don’t have a very prominent side protection, if at all – think about it) Recaro ProRIDE car seat literally WRAPS around your child, and he will not cry or feel cramped (see later), despite all of that. Very comfortable and safe.
- Great fabric, very comfortable and sturdy. Baby satisfaction guaranteed.
The material definitely outclasses Britax in the feel and quality factors. - Extremely Easy to fit into a car. It will fit into into even extremely small backseats, and require almost no magic focus-pocus from your part to safely position the seat for your dear baby.
- Multiple reclining positions. If you want an upright seat – you can have it, if you want a more reclined one, even as much as 30 degrees backwards, – you can have it too.
- Recaro ProRIDE is a very high sitting car seat. If you are tired of car seats that inhibit the vision of your baby and dont let him or her see through the windows… Recaro ProRIDE will be a good replacement.
- Super easy LATCH system installation. By the way, Recaro ProRIDE can be attached both to the US LATCH anchors, as well as Europe’s ISOFIX.
- Safe to use on an airplane. Enjoy your flight with your dear baby without any worries.
It is really … one of the safest, if not THE SAFEST car seat on the market right now.
Don’t fit the requirements for Height/Weight?
Consider this notion, and this is something that many people should know about car seats. Babies tend to outgrow the height requirements in their car seats long before they outgrow the weight requirements. That means that you can pick a car seat that is very tall, but has lower weight requirements (which is what Recaro ProRIDE can be classified as).
Why would you want to have So Much safety for your child?
You already know that in order for a car seat to enter the market, it has to pass certain quality guidelines. Unfortunatelly, the specifics of crash-tests are never disclosed to open public, and all we are left with, for better or worse, is the knowledge that every car seat that you see on the market is … safe.
Now, Recaro ProRIDE takes this to the whole another level, which is not surprising given the fact that it is being manufactured by a company with so much experience in car racing.
If you’ve seen Britax Boulevard 70 cs, another potential alternative for a convertible car seat, you know that it provides side collision protection, as well as good grip of the child. Now, with Recaro ProRIDE, there is even MORE cushion and the installation is incredibly easy, as well.
Every person who has bought Recaro, has noted that fact – the convertible car seat just exceeds their expectation of “safety levels”.
Do you want your child to die from an accident?
Here is what other reviewers say about Recaro ProRide:
I recently bought this for my nine month old baby after reading hundreds of reviews. I was debating between this seat, the Radian XTSL, and a Britax Boulevard 70. After much consideration, I chose the ProRIDE and have been very satisfied with my purchase.

Flying in an Airplane?
Recaro ProRIDE works in airplanes well. Fly freely and enjoy your flight with your baby on your side.
Are there any negatives?
Yes, definitely. You may not want to buy this Recaro ProRIDE convertible car seat IF you don’t like the fact that
- It is very high
Other than that, the seat is completely safe, so you should click here to buy it from Amazon
Other things that may deter you
And these little nuances are probably the problem of not only Recaro ProRIDe
(Careful – Upon Further Investigation, the same problem is observed with Britax!)
- Male connecters of the buckle / Metal buckle parts that will always fall off, and people have commented that they had to fish them out and often times untwist them… it does take a little bit longer putting the baby in the car seat.
Warning
This car seat comes with not very easy to understand manual (well, at least not instanteneously understandable manual). If you want to have the best experience with this car seat, you need to get a hold of both the manual and carefully read it through, as well as getting help from youtube videos (thankfully, there are a lot of them out there).
This seat is NOT RECOMMENDED for Infants
No matter what the product description says, this car seat is very hard to install properly rear-facing. And people have commented that their infants couldn’t fit in. Cut the company some slack – they were trying to get into this market, after all : ).
Moreover, it is hard to imagine how a small infant could fit into this car seat – the straps would be of inappropriate size.
